We reserve two hours for you on your first visit so there’s plenty of time if it’s needed. That’s enough time to look at your teeth, your bite, your oral health. It’s also enough time for you to actually talk with us about what you want and for us to really get a chance to get to know you. Nobody gets rushed here.

Dr. Tatum has been a dentist for 36 years and has practiced in the same Charleston Medical District location for over 30 years. That kind of staying power is rare in any business, and it shows up here in the way the office runs. The team has worked together for decades. Many patients have been coming here since their kids were small, and now their kids bring their kids.

We are a fee-for-service practice, which means our recommendations are based on what your mouth and body actually need, not what an insurance plan happens to cover. We have built a practice on doing things right the first time and standing behind the work for decades. Our schedule is built for real life, including select Saturday hours for patients who cannot get away during the week.

Walk in and the first thing you'll notice is that it doesn't feel like a dental office. We chose every detail to feel welcoming, not clinical, because you should feel like a person here, not a number.

Meet Dr. Tatum and Dr. Granger

Dr. Vicki Tatum founded this practice in 1990 and has poured her career into doing dentistry the way she always wanted to be treated herself. She’s the kind of dentist who is her own worst critic - meaning she pays great attention to detail, making sure everything not only works properly but also looks beautiful.

Dr. Celeste Granger joined Tatum Dentistry eight years ago and is the kind of dentist who stays present with the person in her chair without rushing folks out the door. Her dedication to her craft shows up in advanced training at the Kois Center, one of the most respected continuing education programs in dentistry.
