Meet Dr. Vicki Tatum, Dr. Celeste Granger & the Team

Victoria Tatum (DMD)

Dr. Tatum is a native South Carolinian, born in Anderson, SC. She has lived in many places in North and South Carolina and a few in Virginia. Her father, Jack Tatum, worked in the textile industry after graduating from Clemson University. When Dr. Tatum was 12 years old, she had her braces put on and her love for dentistry began. From that age, she new she wanted to be a dentist and never strayed from that goal.

During high school in Rutherfordton, NC, Vicki was nominated for The North Carolina School of Science and Math (NCSSM). She was chosen to go there and be a part of the first graduating class of this new, innovative, public boarding school.

Upon graduating from NCSSM, she received a full academic scholarship to attend Wofford College. She matriculated from Wofford with a BS in Math, graduating Summa Cum Laude and was chosen for Phi Beta Kappa. Two weeks after graduation she entered The Medical University of SC (MUSC). Starting in the summer of 1986, Vicki entered the Class of 1990, College of Dental Medicine, MUSC. She graduated from there second in her class and was chosen for Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU).

After graduation from Dental School, Dr. Tatum decided to attend Emory University for a 1-year general practice residency. She was trying to make a decision about whether to go into practice as a general dentist or an oral surgeon. After the year at Emory, spending much time working in the hospital and with the oral surgery residents, she decided to go into private practice as a general dentist.

Celeste Granger (DMD)

Dr. Celeste Granger is originally from a small town near Dayton, OH. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While attending Ohio State, she discovered her passion for dentistry through her involvement with Give Kids a Smile. After graduating, she immediately matriculated into dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina.

During dental school, she met Dr. Vicki Tatum. Dr. Granger began regularly shadowing at Tatum Dentistry and fell in love with the wonderful staff and patients. She realized that this office was her perfect fit; where she could work in a comfortable and inviting environment! She is excited to be a part of and work with the best dental team in Charleston, SC.

Dr. Granger is passionate about volunteering and giving back. Through dental school and now as a dentist, she continues to volunteer at North Charleston Free Clinic. She went on a mission trip to Jamaica during her fourth year of school and is looking forward to continued trips in the future.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Women Dentists.

“Dr. G” currently resides downtown Charleston. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching college football (Go Buckeyes!), and exercising at MUSC! She loves to be outside and go to the beach, too!

She is now accepting new patients and looks forward to meeting you soon!
